From 600-630 only by better time mangement? [#permalink] New post 12 Aug 2012, 18:17
Hello,

I looked at CAT Exam #3 and #4 at my MGMAT and I see an improvement from 600 to 630 however when I looked at the number of right and wrong answers I didn't see any difference. I could manage to finish the Exam #4 on time and left no question unanswered. I have been using MGMAT and OG12 mostly and some of the article on Beat the GMAT and GMAT Club forum to improve my strategy . I would really appreciate experts' help to see where I need improvement and what is wrong and need to be fixed to get closer to 700+. so Here I am attaching the last 2 Assessment Summaries for the test. Please let me know if I need to post any other assessment.

By the way these are the marks I got since starting MGMAT:

Score Q V %
#1 Free Practice 520 26 35 44
#2 560 37 30 57
#3 600 40 33 70
#4 630 42 34 79

Hi,

The very first thing I would suggest you is a error log. There are lot of good error logs in gmatclub. I use something like this

Prepare a xls sheet (topic by topic).. and keep a track of your progress on a daily basis. Use color coding (Red,Orange,Green).
Red: You are weak in theory - brush up your concepts.
Orange - Done with theory but weak in application of the concepts
Green - Done with the topic

Also, i have written a post regarding how to do gmatprep.

I see that you are improving consistently in quant. Keep up the good work. Try making a error log and focus on your weak areas. Go through the theory material and then go to grockit.coma nd practice. (good thing about that site is taht they give you a timer for each question so you can always track how fast/slow you are!)

For Verbal: you have floating scores. I think this might be because of lack of basics. You can try Thursdays with ROn for SC. IT will help you improve a lot.

Also, I would suggest you to follow specific books for each part of gmat (probably what i have mentioned in the above link)

Hope it helps!
Good Luck for your prep!
