Hello everybody,

I took the GMAT in april and got 690 (Q49, V35) and i had a nice surprise after having gone through an awful month at work (did not study at all). I was not sure whether to retake it or not, but I new I could do better, specially on the verbal part.

I did not practice much, I simply studied all SC questions from OG11 and slept well the day before. I went less nervous and confident to improve my score and got a 720 (q49, V39). I am more than happy with that score (specially being spanish).

Could I have done better? yes, sure... but it is not worth the time -imho- it's better to spend the time on essays!

Good luck to everybody!

Pau

First attemp materials:
Princeton review "CRacking the gmat" <--- awfull book
Kaplan <--- good
GMATClub <--- it was ok
Thorough review of every single question practiced (know why you failed or if you really new how to solve the question)<--- most important thing of all

Second attemp materials:
OG11 <--- good materials for practice (most oficial answers are worthless)
Gmatclub <--- sometimes useful for additional explanations (when OG fails to provide one)
CONFIDENCE <--- state of mind is what made me win those 30 extra points.

Very nice score! Congrats! What surprised me is that you didn't use tons of books. Only OG and GMATClub. I think that your attempt is the proof that it is not the quantity that counts, but the quality. May I ask what is your english level by the way? I saw that you're spanish and V39 is very good score I beleive.

My english level is just ok: I have the Cambridge Certificate on Advanced English if it is useful as a benchmark.

Let's say i have been practicing around... but what i can say is that I agree with the general saying that gmat english is not real english...

good score, really

your certificate is a good benchmark. i cannot still improve my verbal score. although fine with math. living among native english people even did not help.

good luck
