My guess is D. If you take out all the extra information in the middle D makes the most sense to me.

Why?
Things that it could carry started with "which" and has to end somewhere. A comma would put an end to the section.

I inclined towards D but OA is E

yet makes the statement clear stating the canoe could carry heavy weights but it yet is light

I didnt understand how E is the answer. ans E which states ''baggage yet was so light' appears to be missing a comma. Shouldnt it read baggage,yet was so light (with the comma)

Please let me know your thought on the same

E in my opinion. The the sentence is in the past. Out of all the possible choices, is best suited.

for a canoe four hundred pounds and eighty pound is not light rather it is heavy so the intention of the sentence is contrast.
therefore we use -YET
though - so ....adj /adv...that - is correct idom it does not go with the sentence

and also the sentence described about the past for this -was- is perfect
thatswhy ans is E
