I have the opportunity to get full time financing plus living expenses covered in exchange for returning to work back home in south america for 4 years. It is a great opportunity but I want to hear other's opinions. would it close some opportunities in the future?
Do you have anything to lose really? Many sponsored applicants will commit to returning but every contract has an out clause, which usually says you have to repay the company for the loan with some interest. So sign up now to return and then 2 years later when you graduate and see what options you have, decide. Or am I missing something?
The deal is also sweet since the last 6 months of the school are spent searching for a job - it is stressful, painful, and wastes a lot of time/effort. With your arrangement, you would have a sweet second year. Yes, you may not want to go back since you will be a changed person and will have new friends, maybe even a wife, but you don't need to worry about it now. It is a great opportunity and offer - I would take it.
Do you have a work permit in the US such as citizenship or green card?
