Another fun question. Guys, this is classics from the childhood

If a chicken and a half can lay an egg and a half in a minute and a half. How many eggs would three chickens lay in three minutes?

A)2
B)3
C)6
D)8
E)9

[Reveal] Spoiler: OE:
С) 6. Explanation: Three chickens would lay three eggs in a minute and half, hence in three minutes they would lay six eggs.

P.S. Another possible way of looking on the problem: The answer is 0, because if you have a chicken and a half, the chickens are dead

Spending 15 seconds on this question, I am hesitating between 8 and 9.

My gut tells me 8 and my head tells me 9.

[Reveal] Spoiler:
I will go with 9, E

This is a classical work problem.
1,5 chickens lay 1,5 eggs in 1,5 minutes
that means
3 chickens lay 3 eggs in 1,5 minutes
and that means
3 chickens lay 6 eggs in 3 minutes

$$\frac{3}{2}$$ chickens = $$\frac{3}{2} eggs / \frac{3}{2}minutes$$
$$=> 2* \frac{3}{2} chickens = 2* \frac{3}{2} eggs / \frac{3}{2}minutes$$ -- Multiply by 2 both sides

$$=> 3 chickens = 2*3 eggs/2*\frac{3}{2} minutes$$ -- Multiply by 2 in the right hand side( both numerator and denominator)

$$=> 3 chickens = \frac{6 eggs}{3 minutes}$$

Maybe the single alive chicken increases rate of production looking at the half dead chicken. Either make some more eggs or be someone's lunch!

Anyway, back to the problem, I go with 6.
