Why does Fuqua's website have such poor navigation and design and when will it be revamped?

@Shantanu8jan - GMAT is probably a little low. You're coming from a very competitive demographic. I don't know much about admissions, but you'll need to really stand out in some other way. Try improving that score 80-100 points.

Rsriram586 - I dunno if Fuqua runs a program like the one you're thinking of (as some other schools do). That said, they do hold information sessions in major cities around the world - all over the U.S., Europe, India, China, parts of Latin America and Africa. My suggestion would be to check out one of those: https://www.fuqua.duke.edu/events/

Also, you can just email the admissions office and ask if there are any alumni in your area willing to talk to a prospective. From the alumni side, we're always getting emails from Fuqua asking for volunteers to talk to prospective students. So it's worth a shot.

@sniperssk - Agreed, the website sucks. Don't hold your breath for any major changes, though.

Hey '110038496'. Thanks for doing this, much appreciated.

Disclaimer - I've posted the same question on Calling Duke 2012 applicants. So please ignore if you're on that too.

So here goes -
I am trying to decided between doing an open interview vs. waiting for an invite.

I feel like it would be really hard for me to take a week or so for interview preparation before the 14th of Oct since I'm also applying in R1 to Ross and Booth with deadlines on 10th and 12th Oct.

I understand that it is strongly encouraged to visit campus before applying and I fully endorse that idea. In fact I plan to visit campus before submitting my R1 app on Nov 1. Just that I don't feel so strongly about interviewing before Oct 14.

So basically my plan is to -
Visit Campus in Oct -> Submit Application in Nov -> Wait for Interview Invite.

Will it show lack of commitment to not do an open interview and in turn hurt my chances? Do you have an idea about how many admits go through open vs. invitation interviews?

Thanks.

Hi 110038496,
Could you please specify exactly what was 'MBA from a brand-name school has proven extremely useful for me' in your case? I agree that is fun and interesting, but those things you can get in a nice diver's club in thailand. What are the things (for you personally) that in the hindsight made sense attending the school?
Grazie mille!
