Fuqua (Duke) Class of 2016: Calling all applicants!

Admitted!!! Received the call about one hour and a half ago!!
Though decisions ahead...

Got a call from Jake just now..Too high ...He spoke for sometime and I have no idea what he spoke...Too Happy ...A Big thanks to DG69 in the forum for helping me out

Accepted around 11am with scholarship $$. East coast applicant.

west coast (california) applicant here. was called by connie s. at 8:50 AM cali time to be admitted! just wanted to respond back to the thread since there were so many questions about the west coast. she didn't tell me a specific time the portal would be updated.

Admitted! I received a call from Connie at 2pm EST. Duke was by far my first choice after my visit and I had just about given up hope. I'm out of the country on work. When I received the call from Connie, she let me know she was about to give up, having called two or three times already. Though I don't post often, I really can't thank everyone on this forum enough for all the help and support throughout this unbelievably stress filled process. Best of luck to everyone!

Ok...just spoke to admissions. Email should be going out in the next 5 minutes! Good luck everyone who hasn't heard yet! I hope at least some of us if not all will hear some good news.

What are your chances of admission based on GMAT scores?

According to businessweek, last year there were 3150 applicants, 26% of whom were accepted. They were kind enough to publish the breakdown of GMAT scores.

We can use this data to extrapolate and obtain odds of admission based on GMAT scores.

Just got the call

I would not give up! The things that are most difficult to attain are the most worthwhile. I was waitlisted, interviewed, then rejected by Duke last year. This year, I pushed for a promotion, had many more readers, contacted alumni, really researched the school, and performed mock interviews like no tomorrow.

It's been really great to get some elusive validation for my efforts. Perseverance is a valuable trait! On a side note, when in doubt, powerpose. Fake it til you become it! Good luck and try again!

East Coast ... hard to maintain optimism at this point.

On the negative side: A ding never feels good

On the positive side: All my previous dings were w/o interview. It is oddly comforting to know that I can be as unimpressive in person as I am on paper!

Congrats to the admits!

Sorry for my over dramatic post earlier. I am devastated about not being accepted, but at least I was waitlisted. It sucks to miss out on the chance to go to BDW - I had plans to bring my entire family and celebrate my wife's birthday there. In any case, I will try my damnedest to get off the waitlist and get admitted this year!

To address those about reapplying next year, I am afraid this is my only shot. I have my age working against me. But more importantly, I have family considerations as well. My wife is about to begin her career, and my oldest child has been switching schools too often as it stands.

I want to thank everyone who PM'd me kind words and encouragement. Gmatclub, in my opinion, truly speaks to the 'Team Fuqua' concept.
