How considerate are the B-Schools when it comes to personal matters.

For example: I am in international applicant. Say during my tenure at a b-school there is some emergency at my home and I had to go to my country (India in this case). This will essentially mean7 to 10 days off from school. How are these issues dealt with in a b-school (In terms of lagging in tedious course work, expenses etc)

Different schools look at missing classes differently. If it truly is an emergency, than the schools will certainly help you work things out. It can be, however very difficult to miss that much class and still keep up, so most students try not to miss if at all possible.

Naturally emergencies fall into another category and schools are understanding about emergencies.
