General question re: recommendations [#permalink]

The deadlines for R2 applications are generally around Jan. 4-11. One of my recommenders will be out of pocket after 12/20 and will need to submit her recs before then. I have started applications at all of the schools I'm planning to apply to.
My question is, can her recs be submitted before I finish my applications? If I just enter her email address into the form, will they send her a recommendation request? Or will they hold the information until I actually submit my application?

You can add your recommenders before you submit your app. i.e. your recommenders and you can concurrently work on your app.

For most of the colleges, they send the invitation as soon as you save the email addresses of the recommenders.
And yes, they can submit their recommendations before you submit you applications.

Yes you can surely have your recommenders submit the recos before you submit the applications. Thats how mine worked out as well.
