Invited to interview!!!
Same here
Very surprised by how quickly it came out. Probably based on location or GMAT score.
It seems really slow in here and in some of the other "Calling All..." threads compared to past threads. Do you think that means a slower admissions cycle (i.e. fewer applicants?)

Hey munkeys, Congrats to you too! Hope everything goes well.
To your question - No it does not mean fewer applicants. It's just that this thread was missing from the consolidated list for quite some time and got linked to the list recently. Trust me when I say you wont be disappointed if you decide to enroll in Gtown.

So......I'm supposed to fly into DC tomorrow night for a Wednesday morning interview, but there happens to be a rather large hurricane parked over the East Coast. The Georgetown website says that the University is closed Monday and Tuesday, but makes no mention of Wednesday. Meanwhile, I'm operating under the assumption that Delta is waiting until the last minute to cancel my flight, so I probably won't be able to get there anyways. I got an e-mail from the Admissions Office saying that missing the interview because of the storm would have no impact on my application, but what wasn't clear was what my other options would be. I've already taken the days off work to go interview, so I won't be able to get back to DC in the middle of the within the next month, and I don't know if they're doing interviews in my hometown (I doubt it). So, does anyone know if there's a third option? Skype? I'm pretty nervous about missing the opportunity to interview, and with the University being closed tomorrow, I probably won't hear anything until it's too late.

Hey BBD,
I have forwarded your concern to the admissions department. Will let you know as soon as I hear back from them.
Update: This is the feedback I received from the admissions team: "We evaluate requests for Skype interviews on a case by case basis, but of course, we know the storm has affected a lot of folks, I anticipate that we will be flexible." There's still no update on whether the University (and DC in general) will be operating on Wednesday. So my advice to you is to keep in touch with the admissions team while they decide on a plan.

I recently applied R1 for G-town class of 2015, already had my personal interview several weeks ago. Does anyone know if the application decisons get realesed before 12/15/12 (decision date) or if they are released earlier on an individual basis once your app has been reviewed?

I was told at the end of my interview that we won't hear anything until the day of. She said by late afternoon we would get a phone call to let us know if we were admitted. I don't think it'll be any time before that sadly.

Live Essay Writing Workshop, presented by Admissionado
Sigh. The MBA Application essays. Who thought it was a good idea to ask people to write 2000 words before they even get INTO school? Turns out, it doesn’t matter, because someone did… and now you have to come up with the most compelling and memorable essays about leadership that you can. And then do it again for every school you apply to.
It’s not easy, but this upcoming event should help. Submit your MBA Application essay to have an opportunity to have it reviewed for free by the team at Admissionado. Three essays will be selected, and if you are one of the lucky ones, you will have the opportunity to go through your essay with Phillip Herring (admissions expert and CBS MBA) in a live session. You will need to be OK with sharing your essay with attendees (don’t worry – we’ll keep your name/private info out of it), and available and online at the time of the event to chat it up with Phillip. Even if you aren’t selected, listen in, because there will still be plenty of essay advice to go around.
Submit your essay to lauren@admissionado.com by Monday, December 3. You will find out if you are selected by Wednesday, December 5. Then join the live event on Thursday, December 6 at 6pm PST. Register Now [FREE!] _________________

Oh no!!!! I got a missed call from them - the voicemail says it's good news and I shouldn't worry because they'll be sending me additional information within the day. Does that mean I am in???
