FT 2003 ranked Georgetown #17 worldwide - just below Duke and UC Berkeley and just above IESE and Cornell.
FT2005 ranked it #32 worldwide- just below Vanderbilt and Carnegie Mellon.

EIU 2003 placed Georgetown #27 in the world and #17 in the US- above Carnegie, Texas, and UNC.

No specialty ranking including Georgetown comes to mind but I would not place too much stress on such a ranking anyway.

A good starting point is to inspect the list of hiring firms. It appears to have many of the major financial services. banking, and accounting firms such as JPM, GS, LB,ML, CSFB, HSBC, and KPMG.

How difficult do you think it is to get into Georgetown? I am applying second round (everything is in except my gmats which I am taking Sat March 5). I'm a female, went undergrad to Cornell and graduated with a 3.5, have spent 2 years working in Finance in NYC for a top 5 firm. I'm worried because I am scoring mid to high 500s on my practice kaplan gmat tests. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Since Kaplan tests usually underpredict performance and you have a strong undergrad GPA and employer, it sounds like you have a pretty good shot at Georgetown.

I interviewed with G-town Apr 11 and now am waiting to hear back. Are you applying there as well?

One of your fellow GMAT Clubbers has reported the following to me regarding the interview:

The length of the interview was approximately 30 minutes.

The questions were:
Why MBA, Why G-Town, What are you passionate about, My role on a team (As a leader and as another member of the team).

Georgetown Interview [#permalink]
Anyone out there know if Georgetown invites candidates to interview:

if they need a second look to bolster the application, or if an interview means they are more interested?

many thanks in advance.

You could schedule an interview before 12/31, but at this point interviews are on an invitation-only basis.

right, so after jan 1, are the invited-to-interview candidates invited because they are under scrutiny or because georgetown is more interested?

in other words, what does the interview after jan 1 mean?

HI,

I am an int'l student with 3 years of work ex in financial services. I have a score of 720 and GPA of 2.9.

Could you advice on my chances of getting through a b-school? Scholarship is a must.

And how good is this b-school for placements with I-Banks?
