So, I was accepted to Simon and probably will be accepted to Georgetown, and right now (because of some personal issues) I have to make a decision which one BS to choose. I'm interested in finance and Simon is very strong in finance. On the other hand I heard Georgetown has a lot of connections with Wall Street. So guys, which one BS would you recommend?

Quick question, are you married?

The more interesting, compelling, or humorous you message the more likely I am to respond.

Location Simon leaves a lot to be desired compared to georgetown. If you arent sure go to both admitted student weekends.

Piter -

I went to Georgetown for undergrad. I was in the business school, and although it wasn't the MBA program, there were a lot of similarities. We had a lot of the same courses offered, the MBA's just had one or two more papers than we had as undergrads. I had LOTS of friends going to Wall Street after we graduated, and that was during the downturn in 02-03. And Gtown's name carries more weight on the East Coast than it does out in the Midwest (where I am). I can't speak to Simon's name because I don't know much about it.

Location-wise, I think Gtown has it over Simon, although as a graduate student you may find the Gtown campus a bit "undergrad-ish." It's an amazingly beautiful campus though. However, as a grad student, you won't be living on campus so I'm not sure that would matter. They are building a GORGEOUS new big building just for the business school, and I'm totally jealous as our classes were kind of everywhere around campus. Also Gtown is very big on international experience, so you'd probably have some opportunity to study/intern internationally if you're so inclined. Obviously I'm a little biased and since I don't know much Simon, I'm not sure it helps but if you have any questions about Gtown in general I'd be happy to help.

I've heard some good stuff about Simon -- I was living in Ithaca until July, so was in the general area.

Rochester is not the hottest spot on the planet, but there is one neighborhood that is kinda fun and the housing there is CHEAP. SUPER CHEAP.

How about financial aid? For me, that would matter.

I would think Georgetown would have the better name, connection, and opportunities than Simon, just due to the location and the parent school.
