Get a third recommendation? EMBA [#permalink] New post 30 Dec 2011, 11:01
I already have two great sources of letters of recommendation. CEO of our company who I reported to before he was CEO and my last boss who until recently I reported to for two years.

Sloan and some other potential schools give the option of a third letter of recommendation. I could ask a colleague, a peer, a boss who I haven't reported to in 6-9 years or a direct report, but I've heard some folks discourage any of those as options. Then again another positive vote of confidence with my application can't hurt. Thoughts?

I agree that another positive vote cannot hurt. But at the same time, you don't want to send something that is ineffective. Peers and Reports, given the nature of the relationship won't help you out too much, but a recommendation from a boss from 7 years ago is totally fine.
