Maybe it's a little too premature, but now that many of us have made our decisions on where we will be going this fall, what about using these final few months to get our resumes out to a few companies that we are interested in working for? Since I will be in Washington, I have decided to start my job search in the region now...

I'm undecided yet - sometimes I think I should start scouting now, but then it might also make sense to see campus recruiters at my school.

You mean for '08 summer internship of for a '09+ full-time? I don't really think any company can seriously talk about employing you in 2+ years... Hell knows how will the market situation and their vacancy list look like.

I agree with doing research or preparation right now if you can spare the time (put resume together, investigate thoroughly which disciplines and companies you like, etc.). But sending resumes now, I'd say no. Wait till you speak with the career office, at least.

I've started spending time researching the ins and out of different companies, sectors, and career paths and hope that'll help once I get to school, but I'm not sure what an employer would do with my resume now.
