I wud go for B - Info II is suff...

Info 1 - gives y>1.1 & y<-0.3 INSUFF - ANS y CAN/CANNOT be -0.8
Info 2 - gives y<1 SUFF - ANS y CAN be -0.8

(D) for me :)

Stat 1
| 10y - 4 | > 7

o If y >= 4/10 = 2/5
| 10y - 4 | > 7
<=> 10*y - 4 > 7
<=> y > 11/10 >>>>> OK

o If y < 4/10 = 2/5
| 10y - 4 | > 7
<=> -(10*y - 4) > 7
<=> y < -3/10 >>>>> OK

Solutions are y < - 3/10 OR y > 11/10

Finally
-0.8 = -8/10 < - 3/10

SUFF.

Stat 2
y < 1
and -0.8 = -8/10 < 1

SUFF.

Just plugged in the value and see whether it satisfies equation, and it does in both cases.

Just plug in if the inequality is true then y can be -0.8
