It's like comparing Alex Rodriguez with Mickey Mantle -- different era, different strategy, & unfair to compare. In the past, your score would have yielded a 740. But look at it this way, you have one of the prettiest splits 50/40. 90+%ile on both Q & V Also, my 40 on V gave me only 89%. I wish it had been 41. Greedy me.

Hmmm, that's changed as well b/c only about a year ago, a 40V = 90th%ile

Thanks for posting your spreadsheet. It's definitely interesting to see what could have been, "If I had just gotten one more point on Q or V I would have gotten a..."

I'm definitely grateful for my score but it's just human nature to wonder, "what if...". It's kind of like, "If only I spent more time during undergrad going to class instead of hanging out at the bar..." The great thing about b-school is time spent at the bar is now considered "networking", LOL!

Great staff. A Q45 and V40 also yields 700 in gmat prep.

Any comments on the score in this thread? 470-to-87762.htmlCan there be such a variation? i.e. higher individual scores (Q48 V41) resulting in a lower overall score?

Fremontian wrote: Any comments on the score in this thread? 470-to-87762.htmlCan there be such a variation? i.e. higher individual scores (Q48 V41) resulting in a lower overall score? hi, from what i've seen on these forums about the GMAT scores, it's possible to get 10 points higher or 10 points lower, even with the same section scores. that thread you linked is a good example - on any given day, a Q48 V41 might be a 700 for some, a 690 for others (like on the link you pasted), or even a 710 for other people.
