Hi, Czl
If you want to apply in the fall of 2012, it certainly is not too early for you to be starting the process! From the information you provided, it looks like you are strong on the academic front – schools will look at your GMAT and GPA. It is good that you know you want to go into management consulting. How do you see your career progressing over the long term? You will want to communicate that to the admissions committee so that they know you have a plan in mind. This will include why you need to get your MBA now instead of when you have a few years of work experience. As you know, most people applying to business school have several years of work experience and can demonstrate transferable skills and experiences that serve as a foundation for their future career goals. This is a challenge for younger applicants like yourself. It is important to be able to demonstrate leadership abilities and relevant strengths through professional experience, volunteer experience, leadership positions in student groups, etc.. By the time you apply, do you think you will be able to point to any clear examples in these areas? You may want to look into a program like Harvard’s 2+2 that is geared toward applicants like yourself who would benefit from work experience prior to their MBA.
Good luck!
