GMAT and career [#permalink] New post 09 Apr 2007, 01:58
Paul,
I am being accepted from ultra elite schools. My post- MBA career is probably brand or marketing management, not IB or consulting. I do not have a stellar GMAT. Do you think that it's necessary to increase GMAT up to 750+? I heard that some IBs or consulting only, other industries do not focus much on your GMAT, maybe more on GPA? Thanks.

GMATcram,

Being accepted by and earning a decent GPA at an ultra elite is far more important to your placement chances then your GMAT. Better to spend the time you're willing to spend on retaking the GMAT to polish your interviewing skills. They're far more important than your GMAT score.

Good luck,
