AHA! I found the problem, The pivot table in this spreadsheet is referencing a tab belonging to an older GMAT Guide Spreadsheet, I believe it is referencing the "Error Log" for 13th edition that must be in "bb's" computer. However, I ended up just changing the reference in the Table Range for the pivot table to:

'Error Log'!$B$2:$G$670

Also the "Count of Result" Columns has a bad reference as well, this one seemed to do the trick, however it just elongated the table even more:

'Error Log'!$A$2:$G$670

...from within this spreadsheet. Correct me if i'm wrong?

Thank you. I have updated the file and removed the faulty reference to the previous version of the file. I hope it works better for you.

I used to do a similar method to analyse my GMAT prep tests. I have a column with the % of difficulty calculated by the gmatclub for the questions that appear in the EP 1 and 2. Great job @bb.

Thanks - I have restructured the Error Log section to start with Quant (there is no RC in the error log)
I have also added links to the questions in the error log and squished one typo in Version 3.

Thank you!

Thank you for updating it- looks like the pivot table isn't updating though. It says the original source can't be found when I try to refresh the page.

I am not sure if it's just an issue with the edition that I have, but some questions like #43 on PS are not the same as the 2017 ed OG.

The GMAT Club Guide to The-Official Guide-for GMAT Review 2017th Edition

The Official Guide is a great resource - it has real GMAT questions, all questions are arranged in order of difficulty, good explanations, etc but it has one major flaw - no way to sample specific questions or ability to target a specific area - for example all CR questions with idioms or all DS questions that deal with geometry. This Guide attempts to correct that flaw (and a little bit more), making Official Guide even better.

Use this guide to:
  • Find details about every question available in the-Official Guide for GMAT Review
  • Help find specific practice questions and build your custom practice tests that focus on your weak areas
  • Understand difficulty of each question (it is not very linear as you will notice). We have split difficulty into 4 groups (easy, medium, hard, and very hard). This split is based on the percentile of the question difficulty as determined by GMAT Club Timer sessions
  • Explanations are linked to each question for easy reference
  • Questions are numbered using the same format as in the OG (new update in this version)
  • The split of hard/medium/easy questions has remained the same by en large. However, the location of harder questions has been moving around quite a bit. In General the 2017 OG appears to have:
    • Easy Questions: 320
    • Medium Questions: 203
    • Hard Questions: 79
    • Very Hard Questions: 66
  • You can find previous OG 12, 13, 14, and 15 versions here
  • 2016 edition is available here
  • MGMAT Navigator Basic is another/similar tool available from MGMAT

Is there a similar tool for the 2017 Quant Review and 2017 Verbal Review?

The Pivot Table issue is annoying frankly. I have updated the File yet again. What I think I will do is give you guys instructions how to handle it as I think there are multipiple issues going on potentially - saving it on my computer and also saving it on your computer with a diff name seems to trigger the absolute path in the Data Source.

Here is what you want to do:
1. Click on the Pivot Chat and select it
2. Go to the Analyze Tab
3. Click on Change Data Source
4. Paste or make sure this is what is selected: 'Error Log'!$A$2:$G$670

That's it. Here is a screenshot for the non-tech savvy types :-)
