Hallo Mugdha,

This is a defender type and need to protect the argument from it's casualty . It has been told the number of children who have allergic reactions to chemicals has been increased significantly over the past 10 years ...Author has drawn the conclusion on the basis of the two following must be true logic

1. due to greater exposure to chemicals
2.children are now more sensitive

there is also a 3rd possibility for increased number
i.e " Children's report to school nurse now " > "children's report to school nurse 10 years ago " ...and we need to block this casual open end by answer choice "C" to validate author's conclusion as Must be true

Children who have allergic reactions to the chemicals are not more likely to be sent to a school nurse now than they were 10 years ago.

This may help you

Sreshtha.

CRITICAL REASONING- OG 13- Q7 [#permalink] New post 24 Sep 2013, 02:26
Hi
If any one can clear my doubt fot the follwing ...also I am not sure which type of question is this ..I took is as an assumption.

I AM CONFUSED BETWEENANSWER CHOICE " A " AND "E"
The amount of time it takes for most of a worker's
occupational knowledge and skills to become obsolete
has been declining because of the introduction of
advanced manufacturing technology (AMT). Giventhe
rate at which AMTis currently being introduced in
manufacturing, the average worker's old skills become
obsolete and new skills are required within as little as
five years.

Which of the following plans, if feasible, would allow
a company to prepare most effectively for the rapid
obsolescence of skills described above?

(A) The company will develop a program to offer
selected employees the opportunity to receive
training six years after they were originally hired.
(B) The company will increase its investment inAMT
every year for a period of at least five years.
(C) The company will periodically survey its
employees to determine howthe introduction of
AMT has affected them.
(D) Before the introduction of AMT, the company will
institute an educational program to inform its
employees of the probable consequences of the
introduction of AMT.
(E) The company will ensure that it can offer its
employees anytraining necessary for meeting
their job requirements.
