GMAT CLUB PARTY: COAST TO COAST B-SCHOOL TOURING 07' [#permalink]
09 Feb 2007, 08:43
What the heck, if even one person shows up it's worth announcing.
Place: Chicago (great transit hub for United, Northwest, Amtrac etc. centrally located near six top 25 b-schools and jam packed full of attractions)
Venues: Barhopping triple event (1) Goodbar (2) Leopard Lounge (3) Spoon ---> http://www.spoonchicago.com/
Date: Saturday, March 3rd 2007 6pm~ (Enough time to recover from the hangover for Monday's 9am meeting)
Attire: Smart casual (F uck it, dress anyway you like as long as you don't dye your hair neon purple)
Local host: Rhyme? (Nobody knows the town better!)
Fly, drive, hit the rails, go-greyhound, or even hitch-hike if you can. (If I can come from Japan, you can make the drive from Indianapolis)
Bring your old GMAT books for a bonfire in the alley behind the Leopard Lounge!
**I'll be in Chicago with a rent a wreck on the 3rd and 4th just in case anybody needs to be picked up/dropped off from the airport/station(s).

It sounds like a great idea, but March might be just a tad too early for me. I'm still hopeful about getting invited to interview between now and decision time in the end of March. I know that you're coming from far, far away so I will do my best but it will depend on how the schedule breaks.

Considering how much you will pay for your MBA and how much you already spent in application and GMAT fees, this is a paltry (is there a better line to justify anything you spend?)

I'm happy to help with this but I have a few thoughts first...
March may well be too early - and with too short of a notice. I'd propose something in June. By then we will all know where we are going - and what we are doing - including I imagine all of the R3s, and 90% of the wait list decisions - and should have the time to do something.

Sounds good, but I'm still going to check out the town over the weekend.

Just booked my tix for spring b-school touring and interviews.
I'll be in the following cities if anybody's interested in taking this party idea out of the forum and into the bar.
2/20~2/27 Seattle
2/28~3/4 Chicago
3/5~3/6 Phoenix
3/7~3/9 San Francisco

Put me down for NYC. I know some decent spots, from classy joints to dives. Keep me updated...

Depending on how the interview scheduling goes, if I am not out of town I will be around San Francisco from 3/7-3/9. My first decision (Duke) will be released on 3/8, so I may or may not be in a mood to party.

I am up for SF. Let's plan in advance. Hopefully, drama queen has an admit by that time.

OK, pencil me in for San Francisco. I will do my best to make the time, since Matt is coming from so far away. I will try to hold back the tears if I am rejected from Duke.
Everything will depend, of course, one whether I must travel for interviews.
