Our test tend to be on the more difficult side when compared to the real thing. People tend to appreciate this as there is ample lower difficulty questions out there (namely OG).

Hello Mods

I just took the GMAT Club Verbal 01 and got 24 correct out of 41.
Although I have a percentile displayed to me post test , is there any way I gauge how I have performed.

How's the difficulty of Verbal Tests at GMAT Club compared to Orig CATs. ?

Thanks

Hi !

I'm sailing in the same boat . Gave VO1 and got 26 correct. Could anyone tell me what raw score could that correspond to? A best guess from the creators of the test?

Also , is there a difficulty level difference or percentile calculation difference between the FREE VO6 test and PAID V01?
I gave V06 a week back and got 9 incorrect and today I ended up with 15 incorrects on the VO1(after more hours of studying!!!!) :-S

Gona take the V02 too and then make a best guess of how hard the paid tests are!!!!

Responses appreciated!

Hey Ananyap

I am posting my performances for V01 - GMAT Verbal.
We can compare incorrect questions and work it out if that seems ok with you ?

In the process we may bridge the loopholes and learn from each other.
I'll too give V02 and post the same.

Cheers

Hey Ananyap

Just checked ur V01 results.
What I have done as a part of analysis is came up with a distribution :
RC ( 9C / 3 W )
CR ( 6 C / 8 W )
SC ( 9 C / 6 W )
After that go to the concept and revise it say assumptions , idioms , subj verb etc..

Also I noticed u have taken >4 min on quite a few ocassions , something u may wanna watch out.
Check out BB's timing strategies they are amazing:

Will post my results for v02 soon.

Hi,

I took the free GMAT club verbal test and scored in 99%/V45. The result looks somewhat unrealistic to me. I finished the test 15 minutes ahead of time, and felt that the questions were quite easy.

How credible is the free test?

Thanks a lot.

I am in the same boat here, scored a 99%/V46 on the free test. Although I am expecting to score around there, the questions seemed very easy and I finished with 30+ minutes left.

This also was the free test, does anybody have any insight as to how credible it might be?

From my experience with 5 free verbal tests, the portion of low quality questions is a bit high in the 700 range, especially for CR part. I think the underlying logic was the poorer the quality is, the more likely the answers diversifies, rendering the correct % low thus listing the question in the difficult ones.

The tests however are still useful enough to me to expose weakness, even the poor quality ones can give me some insight through their corresponding forum discussion. I'd say do the verbal test with caution, don't trust the score, review each question and check up the corresponding forum discussion if in doubt.

Hi miushock,

Since you're offering your first-hand opinion/assessment of these materials, it would be helpful if you would provide some context to your evaluation:

1) How long have you been studying?
2) What materials have you been using?
3) Have you taken the Official GMAT (and if so, then how did you score)?
4) How have you scored on each of your CATs?

We have added more than 40 new questions to the database after reviewing the material. The weighted score, I would say, is still not ideal (I don't think it holds much value in any other test to be honest), but I think the new questions - V10,V11 sets are pretty good with a decent mix of levels of difficulty.

I've been studying for about a month and had the first test scheduled on 16th of this month. Besides OG ad Prep, I've used Magoosh question bank and Manhattan SC 6th edition. I've scored 720 and 760 on Prep simulation test 1/2 respectively and a verbal score fluctuate between a wide range of 30-40 with your verbal tests.

I'm seeking for improvements on verbal only, especially SC (probably account for 70% importance to me), so I did not go through any of your quant questions.

Hi miushock,

To clarify, I don't work for GMATClub, so the ClubTests are not "my" Tests.

From these recent practice CAT scores, you certainly appear to be in a strong position to score well on Test Day. I have a few questions about how you took these CATs though:

1) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT (including the Essay and IR sections)?
2) What were your Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores on each?
3) Did you take them at home?
4) Did you take them at the same time of day as your Official GMAT?
5) Did you ever do ANYTHING during your CATs that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, skip sections, take longer breaks, etc.)?
6) Did you ever take a CAT more than once?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich
