Hi All,
I have studied both Powerscore GMAT CR Bible and Manhattan CR- 4th Ed.I was just wondering how many times do you follow the rules mentioned in these books. I mean finding the premise, Additional Premise, Counter premise, sub-conclusion and Main conclusion and then attack the question. Is it really possible to do it all on GMAT? with so much pressure and time constraint.

Thanks

The methods found in either guide are principally designed to help you to understand the concepts for each question type rather than to provide a set of rules to memorize during the test. Overtime these techniques will fade into the background as they become second nature to you.

Think of it this way: the strategies, rules, and categorizations found in the guidebooks are tools. It doesn't matter how many you "bring" to the test, as this alone will not help you to solve a problem. Focus instead on learning how to use these tools.

I agree. In my opinion, if you practice enough you'll get these rules hard-wired, so, if you practice enough you'll apply them at a more instinctual level and at the actual test, you'll "feel" the questions...
