Hallo!
730 (Q49, V40), IR 6, AWA not yet reported
I'm 26 years old, and graduated from med school in '12, have been working in the hospital since then and want to pursue a Master in Management/MBA.
Study Materials: Cracking the New GMAT 2013,
OG Quant,
OG Verbal, this Website
Time spent: Since I am working full time, I had about 8 weeks in which I tried to do some questions online during the day when working and then spend one day of the weekend reviewing concepts, and going through the books from front to cover, doing ALL problems in their.
Since there are a lot of Reviews, I'll just try to quikly cover what I think is most important in preparation.
Since I only needed a 600 to get in the program I wanted, I wasnt really ambitious, but I did try to do at least
10-15 questions every day and review them! This way, you dont loose touch.
Secondly, as many others have said,
the diagnostic tests are quite accurate, but this doesnt mean that you should depend on them or change plans according to them!My Diagnostic Tests:
6 Weeks before the actual test: GMATPrep test 610
2 Weeks before the actual test: GMATPrep test 660
During the exam, I felt like the questions were extremely hard and that i had to guess on most of them. I really felt like I was barely gonna make the 600!
Practical Tipps:
Dont start the Exam early! Its better to start as the last person. I started as the first person, and when I was on IR, there were people around me hacking their essays into the keyboard really annoyingly.
Dont waste time on concepts that you might not encounter: I was really worried about getting hard Combinations/permutations problems, I just didnt seem to get these! So I spent a lot of time trying to figure them out, and in the exam, I didnt get a single one!
Thats all I got, all the best to everyone!
