Hello all,
I took my first GMAT on 9/13 and scored 630 (Q 42, V 35), AWA 4.5.
I'm applying for a part time MSF program so that score should be sufficient. However, I would like to retake again if I get a rejection from the school. My question is: I took 2 full-CATs (skipped AWA on both) prior to taking my real GMAT, do you think there'll be room for improvement? I got 570 on Kaplan & 600 on PP#1. I am not sure if taking more CATs will help me improve on my scores. I used both Math & Verbal workouts to learn the basics, as well as PR & Kaplan books. I would be satisified with a score of 680, or a percentile breakdown of 80-80.
Honestly, I don't remember the details from the GMAT experience. The whole thing seemed vague in restrospect. I was not overly nervous, nor was I arrantly comfortable. I did not have time to finish the last 2 math problems and I clicked & guessed them with 5 seconds left (almost passed out as I thought I would leave the last problem unanswered). I did remember vividly that the last 2 problems were tough, 1 "Work" & 1 DS on Geometry.
I didn't do well on Quant. (only 67%-tile), it was harder than I thought. I got a few probability/combination problems (only looked at these problem the day before the exam on this site).
Verbal (76%-tile) was also much harder than I thought. Most RC passages were never-ending; the elongated stimuli on CR problems were tedious & arduous; SC problems were tricky.
Please let me know if taking more CATs will help improve my score.
Sincerely
