Hi Kdas
First of all congratulations on the fantastic score. And thanx for sharing the experience. I am scoring 710 in MGMAT and I thought I am almost there to take my test. Your write up has however opened my eyes. And now I guess I would spend more time on preparing and then take a call RN

@rupandy:MGMAT tests are good. while attempting them I realized the following:
1. For Quant: they were more calculation intensive than the actual GMAT. The actual GMAT is more tricky rather than calculation intensive. While MGMAT tests were a good proxy for the kind of questions till a score of 49, they were not much more reliable for 50/51 2. For Verbal: You culd get a high score even if you did not answer as many questions correctly. To get the same score on GMATPrep, I had to answer 3 more questions correctly. Good luck for your GMAT. Let me know if this helps.

@amitbehra - the key to motivating yourself is the constant reminder that you will do your MBA only once and how your GMAT score is the single largest determining factor in this whole exercise. This is a great motivation. My preference for schools keeps on changing. Earlier I liked Kellogg for its focus on Marketing while after reading Vijay Govindrajan's book, I am now thinking about Tuck as my first choice. I will probably apply to both. UCB is very attractive too given all the activity in Silicon Valley. What do you think. Which schools are you planning to apply to. As you can see, I am slightly confused.

Got my IR report some time back. Got a 7 on IR and am happy with it. I did feel anxious in a couple of questions. I am disappointed that I got a 5.0 in essay. I thought I did quite well there. hope it does not affect my chances.
