Hello all,

Let me cut to the chase. I struggle with remembering all the terms for math.

Quotient is a great example of a word I couldn't remember and had to look up.

Does anyone have an list exclusively of math vocab to study?

HI Colton,

How are you 'math skills' overall? Are you comfortable doing math by hand, using formulas, simplifying expressions, etc.?

It might be better to work on all of those skills (and the vocabulary) at the same time, instead of trying to memorize all of the vocabulary and then try to practice your math skills. Seeing these words in context (and practicing with them) will build 'links" in your memory, so that when you see the same words in another question, you'll remember what they mean AND the physical math you need to do.

I took math 1040 about 6 years ago. So on a scale of 1-10 id rate my skill as a 2.

I think that's a great plan...ill just google the word as i look at them..Thanks for the super fast reply!

Hi Colton,

If you're interested in some free math help/practice, then i suggest that you take a look at Khan Academy (www.khanacademy.org). It's a BIG site, but you can get plenty of practice in and build up the necessary skills in basic Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, etc. that you WILL use on the Official GMAT. The format is friendly and "game like" so you might even enjoy the studies.

Ill take a look.

I actually purchased the Magoosh premium 1yr licence.

What do you think of that site? So far i like it.

I am going to try the 3 month program.

I took a cold turkey practice test and got in the mid 400's and id really like to get the low 600's.

Hi Colton,

I'm happy to help. I don't have much of an opinion on the product that you mentioned. Ultimately, it will either help you to achieve your goal or it won't. In the end, THAT goal is what matters, so you should use whatever resources you have as you see fit. After a bit of work, if your scores aren't improving, then we'll adjust your plan accordingly.
