Ans: C

Sentence 1 tells us the LCM of x/y and 1/3 but don't know what the value of x is, if it's multiple of y then we can't use this information reliably. So using what Sentence 2 tell us, we can find the value of y (= 2, btw).

E for me

if the LCM is 6 then couldn't Y be 2 or 6?

(x/y) and (1/3) is 6

St 2

(1/x) and (1/3) then if the LCD is 6 couldn't x be 2 or 6

x=6, then LCM is 3*2 = 6
x=2, then LCM is 3*2 = 6

since it is asking for a certain value, u cannot decide based on the data, it is not sufficient,
when a question like those ask for certain values, the answer should be exact value if the equation is solved

I think this is why it's E instead of C. I agree with this logic.
