GMAT Prep score vs. Real GMAT score [#permalink]

Hi guys,
I just took the GMAT this morning and scored Q49, V41 but the total score is only 720.
I had the same section scores after taking GMAT Prep but the total score is 740.
I also checked with the score matrix of GMAT Club and 49-41 comes out as 730.
Are there any other factors that may affect the total score?

I'm guessing it also has to do with the difficulty of the questions you got right and wrong?

congrats on the score - yes, it is possible to have the same section scores but different final score (no other factors). it is covered in this post: how-does-the-gmat-algorithm-work-120297.htmllook for this: 8. I took the GMAT and got a 710, 44q/44v/6 AWA. A friend of mine happened to take the test 6 days later and get the exact same quant/verbal scaled scores but he got a 720. How this could happen?

You should be happy that you scored a 720, in my opinion, move on....., Letters of Recommendation, Essays, revisions & revisions, move on! Round 2 deadlines are right around the corner. Good Luck on your application process. You're almost there. Check the gmat off you're list, and move on.
