GMAT Preparation Classes Chennai, India [#permalink] New post 17 Aug 2011, 01:29
Hey guys,
I have found this forum really helpful.
I am going to start my GMAT prep. soon and was thinking of joining some classes.

1. Can anyone give me any info. on some classes that are good and well known in Chennai.
2. Also does going to these classes really help or is studying at home by yourself the best option.

Please do let me know soon. I would find it really helpful.

Best Regards,
Vivek

Hey Vikram. Welcome to the Club. :)

If you have 3-4 months to go before you need to take the test, then the best option would be for you to study by yourself, or maybe even find a study partner, which is not a hard thing to do in Chennai.

Purchase the following books: The Official Guide, MGMAT's Sentence Correction Guide, and PowerScore's Critical Reasoning bible are widely considered as must-reads. Go through the Best GMAT Books thread before purchasing any additional books.

If you find that you are not able to grasp the material covered and/or are not making much progress, then consider joining a course. IMS isn't bad. I've heard that Lyceum is excellent for verbal, and that Princeton Review (Manya) and 4GMAT, to put it bluntly, are crap. The cost ranges between Rs. 7000 - Rs. 30000. You might also want to consider joining an online course. Knewton's is probably the most bang for buck course out there, but again you would be better served going through the Course Reviews thread before making your decision.

To kick things off, you might want to consider taking a diagnostic test.

Keep us updated. All the best!
