GMAT retake [#permalink] New post 08 Aug 2013, 00:59
Hi

I gave my GMAT this Tuesday and messed up my verbal section. i scored 610(Q48,V26).
I'm applying for Masters in Management courses this fall. So can you please guide me if I still have chance of getting into LSE,LBS,HEC or Fuqua(MMS) as the are my target schools.

If not then I'll take GMAT again in 2nd week of October. So please guide me how to improve my verbal score in approx 6 weeks. While giving the exam i felt was going fine as the question i was facing were not so easy for me. But I guess the level running throughout the exam must have been low to give me this score. I desperately need some suggestions regarding re-taking the exam. And if yes then how in 6 weeks?

ThankYou

Unfortunately, for your target schools, 610 is a little low; you might want to try to bump it up to 700.
You can still get through with this score but it will be harder. Your essays and overall profile must be extraordinary.

Whether to take your chances with this score or take GMAT again is your call.

If you do plan to take GMAT again, you need to work on your Verbal from scratch. You need to analyze how you perform in each question type and accordingly plan your strategy. We can work further on your strategy if and when you decide to retake.

Hi,

I had a similar fate , Scored 640 (27V, 49Q) . I am planning to give it in October 2nd week.

Still shooting for round 1, lets see. I desperately need to improve my work verbal score.

I am working on CR now , I will keep posting questions.

Thanks.

Hi ,

I gave my GMAT today screwed it completely, 490 (QA 42, VA 16). Did not expect verbal to go so bad. I want to apply for MS in canada and US. I want to retake the GMAT. Do not know how to improve on verbal. I have Manhattan RC and CR books, did all the questions from OG 13th edition. I used to get my verbal score above 25 in practice tests , do not know what happened in actual exam.

Hey even i used to score good on my practice tests. I never scored less than 32 in verbal section. Anyways lets work on verbal with proper strategy and let's see what happens. :)
