GMAT retake?? Suggestions required. [#permalink] New post 24 Sep 2009, 06:53
I have taken the GMAT 3 times with a maximum of 660(Q48,V34). I am planning to apply in some top 30-50 US B-schools where i should be around 700 range inorder to stand a pretty good chance as i am an Indian IT Male.So should i retake a 4th time? Or should i proceed with my current score? I feel i have it in me to score a 700.Please let me know your thoughts

My 2c:

Don't re-take. Your quant score is good, so concentrate on preparing well written essays (with a focus on good structure and grammar). This should prove that your Verbal GMAT score doesn't reflect your true ability. What did you score on the AWA?

This post should help you with your decision:

My recommendation to everyone (other than Indian IT male) would be to try your chances. However, with your demographics if you do not have something special about your profile (successful athlete, humanitarian, traveler, etc) - basically if you are just like all of us, you should retake.

No need to haste. Take some new sample tests, if u notice a dramatic increase then u might consider retaking. Otherwise some BS might loot at your 4 scores some unfavorably.
