When you sends your scores to a school, does this give them access only to all your GMAT scores up until that point or to both your past and (potential) future scores?
Example: If a candidate has taken the GMAT once and sent the scores to 5 schools, then decides to take it again would he/she need to re-send the scores to those five schools again so that they register his latest set?
I suppose the issue becomes more important if you're applying to more than 5 schools and don't want to spend money issuing extra scores outside of the test - in the example above if the candidate was applying to 7 schools would he/she send 5 the first time, and 2 the second time for everyone to get all his scores (no extra money paid) or would he need to send 5 (first time), 5 (second time), and pay for the last 2 separately?
EDIT:
I'm basically trying to verify the information given in the following article as I've heard/read support for both answers. Basically the article says that upon sending your scores to a school, they receive access to a score database which reflects your scoring history, so if I took the test once and sent to school A, then took it a second time and didn't send to school A, school A would be able to see both scores as long as they checked after I took the test a second time. This means that I should send to 5X different schools, with X being the number of times I've sat the exam, and avoid paying any additional score report fees.
