I have been studying for the GMAT for 3 weeks now and I plan to take the GMAT for the first time in about a month. My goal is 720+ and I have taken some practice tests. I was wondering if someone could please suggest on how to best allocate my time to improve my score. I am currently struggling with Verbal (esp CR / RC). Here are my results so far:
MGMAT 2 (Feb 11): 660 (45 Q / 35 V)
MGMAT 3 (Feb 25): 680 (47 Q / 36 V)
MGMAT 4 (Mar 18): 660 (44 Q / 36 V)Kaplan
1 (Mar 22): 740 ( 98% Q / 66% V)Kaplan
2 (Mar 27): 710 (92% Q / 69% V)
I am not too worried about the Quant section as I am a math major and will have gone through all of the MGMAT Quant guides by the end of this week - I am confident I can get a 49-51. However, I feel as though I am not improving much, if at all, in CR / RC. I have started reading the PowerScore CR
Bible (about half way) and am going through the OG questions. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have the option of taking the GMAT in June as well, but am really trying to take it in early/mid-May due to personal reasons.
Thank you for the help!
You have been preparing for quite some time now and the results from your tests are good. Its right time to take the first GMATPrep test and have the most accurate estimate of your score. If you score around 690 in that, it means you are going well and continue with your study approach. PowerScore bible is a great resource, but make sure to practice the concepts on the GMAT type CR questions than on LSAT ones.
I guess you have finished the OG, if not then do at the earliest and make sure the review the questions later. Moreover, are you keeping track of the question that you are getting incorrect (error log
, etc). Such question will be a great review resource during the last two weeks of your prep. If you score well on the GMATPrep test then no need to postpone the test till June. All the best !!!
Hope this helps,
Press Kudos if you want to say thanks
