wow .. that scares the shit out of me ...

is it for Indians across the globe or for test takers in India ? ... if it is for Indian across the globe then I am doomed ... if not then in that case probably i will go and write in some eastern europe, latin america or africa where no of "Indian" test takers are less.

anyways who cares ? i know if you put in your hardwork and study well and prepare yourself for the worst no matter which planet you are from .. you should be doing good ... i know enough of my friends who were not ultra brilliant or from IIT's ... still got decent scores and did well in india ...

If you are still worried about it then I would suggest you to go to sri lanka or singapore to write the exam, the total trip expenses will come upto 20 grand ... worth the extra 20-40 points in gmat ? ... :)

That thread completely lacks evidence. It makes the illogical assumption that if an Indian doesn't get a Q51, the test must have been harder than the American version. After all, Indians MUST be better at math than the rest of the world.

It's a rumor and nothing more. Honestly, it's no different than someone bombing the verbal section and making a post that the verbal section must be harder now.

Rest assured, the GMAT is a standardized test. There's no purpose in administering different versions of the test in each country.

I sincerely doubt that the test is harder in India because that would completely defeat the purpose of calling it a standardized test. The idea of the GMAT is to test all test takers irrespective of their background/education on a common platform in order to judge relative performance under similar conditions of stress/academic rigor. Making it harder in one country and easier in another is unfair and biased. I feel that the thread lacks any concrete evidence regarding this.

Don't give too much thought to all this, and personally, IMHO, I think going to a different country to take a test is just waste of time/money (unless you're planning to take a vacation there right after the GMAT anyway).

This rumor has outlived its usefulness.

Thread is locked. If someone has something noteworthy, it can be posted, but rumors are silly and only cause distress.
