GMAT vs GRE for international applicants [#permalink]

Hi there! Schools that I'm targetting are accepting both GMAT and GRE. Which one should I take considering that Iam French and really bad with all the quantitative stuffs  Any tips are more than welcome! Thank you!!  Posted from GMAT ToolKit

GRE is still testing English vocabulary. So, I would recommend GMAT for non-native English speakers if you don't know thousands of words that you will almost never see in B-school.

Definitely the GMAT....The GRE is the poor cousin in this scenario. Plus, if you are convinced B-school is where you want to be -- then GMAT will give you more options. And -- *some* employers look at your GMAT score -- and a high score gives you a slight edge over your classmates (most of whom will be competing with you for the same jobs).

The GRE verbal section has changed quite a bit -- now your vocabulary is tested in some given context. Many bschools show in their entry requirements just a score about the gre quant part, does it mean that they don't consider at all the verbal part result?

If you are targeting at good MBA programs, they will definitely look at your verbal score. Thus, you will have to do well on verbal as well. The overall GMAT score depends both on Quantitative and Verbal sections. As far as GRE is concerned, I have heard just a few days ago that some schools that require GRE do not look into verbal section. But just because I heard it does not mean it is accurate. I do not know which schools would require only quant section. Perhaps some MSF programs in Europe. If I were you, I would definitely check out the website of the school you are targeting at.
