GMAT vs. SAT Scores [#permalink] New post 17 Nov 2009, 07:45
Just wondering what people got on their SAT's vs. their GMAT.

Any correlation?

I did a lot better SAT Math than I'm doing on the GMAT. Any suggestions?

I think it would be very difficult to compare SAT scores to GMAT scores. In general, SAT / ACT scores should be high in the GMAT score is high, but the inverse would not necessarily be true. Someone that got a bad SAT / ACT score might be able to do very well on the GMAT. We taket he SAT/ACT in highschool and the GMAT after undergrad and usually with a few years of work experience. At this point in our lives, we either have learned how to learn or we haven't. Someone that knows what it takes to teach themselves the knowledge required on the GMAT might have gotten a bad or mediocre SAT score, but could get 700+ on the GMAT.

My 2 cents

It depends on how much you choose to study for each test. I think the GMAT takes a little more work than the SAT bc a lot of the algebra and geometry concepts need to be refreshed. I do think if you prepare for both tests then your GMAT score range will be around half your SAT score.
