GMATCLUB one on one against BEATTHEGMAT
I will go with pros and cons of both the forums and hope the admins are watching this because I have been an extensive user with a slightly higher focus on gmatclub.
Now my username has 104 posts on gmatclub and 5 on btg, so its obvious which one is my favourite. Still I will try to make it as impartial as possible.
GMATCLUB Vs BEATTHEGMAT
1.
Magnum Opus: GMATCLUB has gmat toolkit and the
gmatclub tests. Beatthegmat has a very comprehensive self study guide which goes on a day by day basis, reminding you of your daily homework to achieve your goal.
Although I am not a subscriber of the self study plans on beatthegmat, it seems pretty impressive.
2.
Distinguished members: I got the most help from bunuel and walker, one known for his legendary quant collection and another for his contribution towards the app development. Besides our very own humble servant is more omnipresent than any admin in any forum can be. However beatthegmat doesn't come close to any of these.
3.
Prep Course Reviews: The strength of beatthegmat lies in its users. Unarguably it has more GMAT prep course reviews. I think those are definitely worth a visit before buying a course.
4.
Experts on the forum: There is one gmat celebrity on btg. No prizes for guessing its Ron Purewal. However with the new verbal revolution in gmatclub, I think its getting close.
5.
Popular Opinion: Unanimously people would agree that the most extensive use of both of these forums is for reviewing questions from gmat sources all over the world. There are some questions which gmatclub has explanations for, while some are there on btg. Mostly you will find all of them in both of these forums. So even if not equally, but both of these forums are highly recommended.
6.
How much is too much: One gmatclub disadvantage I have felt is that it might make you an addict

. I have spend hours just browsing aimlessly on share gmat experience forum, hoping I would add to the list with a 99 percentile.Someday

Barring the last month I was an inactive stalker of gmatclub, browsing through every threads; there was too much information, and I had a static inertia. But soon I found a place of my own. I started making more posts, and I realized the best way to utilize gmatclub is to take part in discussions. When you help out someone in understanding something, your concept would just reinforce itself and you will never forget it.
ConclusionNone of these forums will guarantee and drastic score improvement. But they do give you a platform to interact with like minded people, learn from their mistakes and seek help from experts. Only you can evaluate the best use out of these forums.
Hope this has been helpful.
Cheers
