Let us take x = -1

Code:
sqrt ( - (-1) (1) )


=
Code:
sqrt ( 1)
= 1 = -x

HENCE ANSWER IS A

Yep, just plug in a bunch of numbers and see if a pattern develops. X<0.

X, sqrt(-X*abs(X))
-0.5, 0.5
-1, 1
-2, 2
-100, 100

Answer: A.
