D uses "only" which seems a bit extreme. Surely there are other reasons to hold an interview (introductions, formalities, or even to administer exams.)

(C) looks like the best choice. If interviewers lack these skills then the argument crumbles.

C it is ...

The statement says that interviews are a way to eliminate job applicants who personalities are unsuited.. hence the assumption is that the interviewers can actually identify such traits.

Straight C, no purpose in the interview if they can't determine who is unsuitable.

Yes, the OA is C...

Now, could someone explain to me why "A" would be wrong? Out of scope?

Thanks,

C make sense. if an interview doesnot do the job mentioned in (C), it is worthless.

(C) is straight. If the author's argument is to be valid, then there should a way by which interviewers can figure out (during the interview) which candidates are unsuited for the job.

If not, the interview's ability to eliminate unsuited candidates does not hold good.

C for sure...

A is out of scope because it is claiming without a doubt that a hiring program will be successful if it includes interviews. On the GMAT, an inference question should never be so extreme.
