I don't see why A is not a better choice than E In A, you have 4000 video sold and 4000+ video rented, which accounted for at least 8000 of the 10000 of declined video rental In E, it said that people who own videos frequently loan them out to their friends But E statement does not give any concrete number. The statement does not say ALL people who own videos loan them out. No reason to assume that all people who own videos loan them out. E is more ambiguous than A in terms of giving a concrete number to explain the observation, and yet it is the OA.

Key is first line : Video rentals in Centerville TOGETHER handled 10,000 fewer rentals. This includes the newly opened shop.

Lets say there are 3 shops A B and Videorama; A and B were present last year and videorama opened this year.
Lets say last year
Rentals of A + B = 20,000
This year
Rentals of A+B+Videorama = 10,000
Number sold by videorama = 4000
Total videos 14000 --> what happened to the remaining 6000 ? why were they not rented out ?
Because people who buy lend it to their friends !!

I looked at it little differently though I missed the word "Together"
The question asks to weaken Brad's opposition to Jennifer.
Brad is implying that Videorama did not contribute to the 10K drop.
In A -> Videorama rented+sold atleast 8K. Minimum 8001 & some unknown max number.
Any of these numbers should be able to weaken Brad's point. I dont think 8001 can explain it. The rentals should really be down 8001 not 10,000 in that case

Brad (in my words): The sale of videos did not cause the issue. Because its volume is less. Now weaken Brad. That is sale caused problems. D and E are close. D brings in third party. Also, it does not answer how 4K affected 10K. E is correct. It says sale caused problem. Also it says how 4K affected 10 K.

I would shed some light on "Together" in my fashion!
