If (400)(6000) = (240)(100^x), what is the value of x?

First work out what 400 * 6000 is. This is easy 6 *4 = 24 plus add the missing zeros = 2,400,000.

We know that to get 240 to equal 2,400,000 then we need to multiply 240 by 10000 this is 100 * 100 = 10000. So 100^2

The answer is X = 2

thanks for the replies. Yes, I always catch myself doing the same silly mistakes over and over. :oops: I have to find a way to overcome that.
