If the fruit is dried on hot condition and the percent of containing water become 98%, what is the weight of that fruit after drying?

(3) 50g
(4) 60g
(5) 70g

I don't quite understand the question. What happens when the fruit is dried? Does it lose only water or shrink to a particular weight at a certain rate? Please clarify.

If the fruit weighing 100 gms has 99% water, when the water content is 98%, the weight should be about 99 gms.. unless the question has more components to determine what else gets effected by drying.

Sorry guys. Forgive me of my poor english. :-(

The OA is 50g.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Before getting dried, the weight of the fruit is 100 gram.
Since 99% of it is water, the portion which is not water is 1 gram.

After getting dried, 98% of the fruit is water.

Now, let x be the weight of water and T be the weight of the fruit.
(T = x + 1)

(x/T) * 100 = 98%
100x = 98T
100x = 98(x + 1)
2x = 98
x = 49

T = 49 + 1 = 50

50...(90-x)/(100-x)=98/100...solve for x !
