I say C sounds best...

I think C is more concise than A...

actually reading the sentence again...i begin to wonder what is flaunted..its the shape..for ...shapes sake...

C gets that wrong..

E is best..

Misplaced More... emphasis is on the "conforming" than the ergonomics.

(B) More ergonomic, conformed to the body’s shape and not to flaunting shape
Incorrect tense.

(C) Ergonomic, conforming more to the shape of the body than flaunting shape

(D) Ergonomic, more conformed to the shape of the body and not to shape flaunted
Tense Problem.

(E) Ergonomic, conforming more to the body’s shape rather than shape flaunted for its
Possesive "its" pronoun is for the body or shape?
Unclear referent.

Dont you think the possesive pronoun reference "its" is unclear?

It looks like "its" refers to the body, but note that there is no noun to refer back to. There is a "body's shape" but no body.

In option E I dont think more....rather than construct is necessary

Option C has more....than ..should be enough[/b]

A ruled out...I think we dont need to say more ergonomic. It's not compared against something which is ergonomic.

E is ruled out for 'more x rathar than y' and 'shape flauted' is awkward.

C makes sense.

C is not right here. The answer is A.

This is a GMATPREP question. I don't have a very good explaination for this. I hope one of the SC experts here can comment on why A is correct.

In E, "shape flaunted" sounds little awkward.

Tennis ball, I just had this question in my GMATPrep, I can't post the attachment from my desktop so I went searching for it on the forum and luckily Swagatlakshmi had her thread, so i just brought it up. Take my word it is a GMATPrep Q :-D

And i just double checked it, that A on the screen laughs at my face=(

i eliminated C,D,and E right away because we are comparing things, the old styles and the new styles. Therefore we need 'more ergonomic', between A and B is the parallelism that decides it

The orginal is correct and clear: gerund RATHER THAN gerund is used to illustrate what is meant by 'more ergonomic'. In (C), conforming more to (NOUN) than to (NOUN) should be used- (B) and (D) are out because of unidiomatic 'comformed´. (E) is awkward and should not include RATHER
