Got 510, how to improve verbal? [#permalink] New post 16 Dec 2007, 17:05
Hi I took the GMAT last week and it really blast  me especially the verbal part I got 17. Since last I buy OG11, OG verbal, Kaplan and PR books. My target is a least 650 and I really don't know if these books can help me to get in. By the way, I am gonna retake the GMAT in mid february. Do you have any advice for me?

You missed the best book for SC which is Manhattan SC. Start your SC with this one. Make sure you know grasp all the fundamentals.

CR and RC: I am yet to start these hence I am not in a position to comment. but, after OG11 is done, do 1000SC, 1000RC and 1000CR.

basic things: While doing all the questions from above, maintain the error log and review it every other week. Try to understand the questions you got wrong. The questions you got right might have different explanaiton; these are important to review and learn from as well.

Yes, definitely keep an error log. It's the best way to figure out the patterns to your mistakes. Also, the PR tests have explanations for each answer, so review those as well. I wouldn't use Kaplan if you want to improve verbal, though. Doesn't even remotely resemble the real thing.
