Little background, i took GMAT almost 15 months before ( and 2 times before that) and scored the same score (600, Q44/V31). I retook my test last friday and got the same score. Couldn't believe myself that i scored the same after all the practice and my verbal saw a very little improvement after all the practice i did. Ofcourse i didnt spend all year studying, due to my work nature travelling different countries ( and got married last year so got lazy and distracted
)but atleast 2 months of hard work.
Couple of things from my exam day, I expected my Quant score to be low than 40, and my verbal to be higher than 32. Surprisingly i got most of my questions in Factors and In-equalities, apparently they are my weak areas, and got those questions withing first 10 questions. So i thought i did very badly and at one point decided to cancel the score.
Verbal i felt very confident, I got 4 paragraphs 2 long and 2 short ones. I thought i nailed them, but the score didnt reflect them. Interestly enough my verbal score hasn't increased from last time and my quant has decreased by 4.Sentence correction questions were full length correction questions, most of them fell under the 3-2 answer options.
I am looking for advice from you all as to how to improve my verbal score. One thing i dont understand is how my the GMAT verbal is always low inspite of my IELTS consolidated score is 8.5, if thats any kind of a bench mark. I sincerly need advice from you regarding how to improve my Score.
As i said i have already given GMAT 4 times (530,470,600,600). I dont know if i have reached my level and cant improve above this. Doing an MBA is my dream but now i feel so down and ashamed fo myself that i am not capable of doing it. My wife though feels that i should give it another shot afetr more preparations. She might just be saying to be supportive. But i am looking towards you guys for honest opinion if i can cross atleast 680 to go to a top school.
Thanks for reading such a pretty long post. looking forward for your comments.
