You can use WES (www.wes.org) to do the conversion for you. They have a rough estimation tool (free), as well as a paid service which is an accurate representation. Though US schools don't really need this conversion.

Thanks a ton. Well, how critical are the GPA to get admitted to US/canadian business schools, apart from GMAT scores and work experience and essays etc (all other admission criteria)? would be glad to hv a healthy discussion

You can also calculate this yourself by following method-
1.First add up the total hours attempted and total grade points earned..
2.Then divide the total grade points by the overall hours.
