GPA Calculation - Indian Course [#permalink]
16 Nov 2012, 01:42
Heyooo,
I have done my engineering degree from Visveshwaraiah Technological University, Belgaum in Karnataka, India and have scored 67 percent overall during graduation.
Can anyone help me understand the following: a. How to convert this percentage into GPA? b. Are you aware of which tier my university belongs to? c. Since in India there are different ways of grading, do Universities really consider these factors during the screening process?
Awaiting your response.
AJ

how-to-convert-indian-gpa-percentage-to-us-4-pt-gpa-scale-124249.htmlTo my knowledge, in India only the IITs and BITS fall in the first tier. State owned universities like VTU and Anna should be falling in the 2nd tier. The link above should be sufficient for answering your other queries. Kudos Please... If my post helped.

Kudos Please... If my post helped. I'm surprised to see you dont consider NITs in tier 1? specially BIT mesra ahead of NITs? impossible. Haha... Sorry... NIT totally skipped my mind... BITS is definitely not ahead of the NITs, especially now after their Dubai Campus getting into which is not that tough and the students get the same certificate as BITS Pilani... Its more of an oversight than not considering.. A tougher critic would maybe say that only the IITs fall in the first tier, the NITs and BITS in the second tier and maybe even ranking state owned universities in the third.... Though, as someone who has a degree from Anna University, I dont like to consider such an analysis. Kudos Please... If my post helped
