GPA good? [#permalink] New post 30 Nov 2012, 09:14
My undergrad gpa in engineering is 7.95/10.0 from IIT in india. While bschools are known to understand how to interpret international/iit gpa, it is not known how good they think such a gpa is.

This gpa was in the uppermost quarter of the class and the iits grade on a tough curve but do my targets, h s w, admit with this gpa.
Anyone knows admits with gpa that missed 8 narrowly?

You'll be hardpressed to find the answer to this question. Most schools have a very subjective evaluation criteria, so someone with a 6.0 may get in if there's something else that's remarkable in his / her profile while someone with a 10.0 may miss out. [This is similar to the GMAT story] In any case, you can't really do much about your GPA now, so you should focus on other areas of the application.

Try and think in relative terms in comparison with your classmates. You are already at the preferred college for MBA programs, so if you are amonst the top students, this can only be good. No need to obsess about a particular digit.
