What year does the summer school sessions fall under when calculating GPA?

Do you guys tailor it to make certain years stand out? For instance, say year 1 is a bad GPA, but the GPA during summer school after year 1 was great. Do you include the summer school GPA into year 1?

And then on the flip side, say year 2 GPA was great, and year 3 GPA was bad. Do you put your great summer school (after year 2) GPA with year 3?

Or does it not matter as long as you are consistent?

I wouldn't play "games" with it.

I'll look tomorrow and see where I put my summer school - if memory serves me right, I considered "Fall" the start of a year - so say

Fall 2006 - Junior
Winter 2006 - Junior
Spring 2006 - Junior
Summer 2006 - Junior
Fall 2007 - Senior

That kind ...

But you need to be consistent - don't put one summer as part of "freshman" and then use the other summer as "sophmore".
